Orbit Marine operates two dive boats out of Captain's Cove Marina on historic Black Rock harbor in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Local dives are offered from May through October each weekend day in addition to Wednesday morning dives during the week. Local marine life is abundant in Long Island Sound which is home to five varieties of sponges, coral, sea anemonies, sea urchins, sea stars, welks, moon snails, cunners, black fish, striped bass, flounder, fluke, lobster, skates, clams, and oysters to name a few. New to diving? Dive students can do their training dives right in Long Island Sound, eliminating the need to travel out of state for long costly weekends away from home and family. The Open Water student dives are offered every Saturday and Sunday. Old pro? Local wreck sites consist of several mid 1800's schooners, a tug boat and barge (sank 1984), an early 1900s schooner barge, and other unknown recently found wreckage.
